More of Them Sims

I figure as long as I'm busy grubbing SimPoints from the SimStore right now, I may as well type up the goings on since the last time that I posted.

First off, the SimStore, you guys. So, like, on the Sims launcher there's a thing that says 'hey, get free SimPoints!' and if you click it, it takes you to the SimStore, and if your game is a legit copy and you have an account and all, you can watch some pointless video (or let it run in another tab while you, oh, I don't know, write a post about the Sims) and once it's over you get five SimPoints. Yeah, five points is jack shit, but when you're just planning on sitting around on tumblr for 900 hours, popping over to the other tab now and then to start a new video isn't that big of a deal. Now, back in the day before Sims 4 came out, other people were making the most of this free points thing, so I could get, at most, about 30 points a day. Not really enough to do anything with, at least not without doing it on the reg, and most of the time when I'm opening the Sims, I just want to play and not spend who knows how long watching vids. BUT, now that everyone's wandered off to Sims 4, pretty much no one has been claiming these points, so I have been CLEANING UP. (and, yes, writing this is making me realize how sad and tragic this all is, but there is an Alice in Wonderland themed bathroom I got my eye on so I DON'T CARE)

Anyway, the other day I was looking at the stuff that they were suggesting for me, and one of the things were some Tudor inspired items, and I was like, oooooh, Tudor, and decided to start saving up for that, which was a such and a half because it was, like, 1300 SimPoints. That's, like, 260 videos. D: But, whatevs, it's not like I'm going to sit and do it all at once. >_> A couple days pass and they're waving new things in front of me and I'm like 'hey, wait a sec, was that Tudor stuff 1300 or 1500? Lemme go look.' So I'm digging through the sets, trying to find it again, and I come across the set for January of 2012 (which wasn't it), which caught my eye because it was like 'hey, you've already got a fair chunk of the things in this set, want to finish it off for 180 points?' And I was like 'no, I'm saving for an Anne Boleyn dress.'

And then I saw it.

The Cowplant.

And I was like 'FUCK YES I want a cowplant, gimme. But, wah ha, dumb site, if you're offering me this cowplant and a bunch of other things, then I bet I can just go to the cowplant page and get it, by itself, for, like, 20 SimPoints. I am smart!' So I went to the cowplant page..and immediately went back to the set page and got the whole set, because that fucking cowplant, by itself, was 700 SP. So, in the end I got a Cowplant, an entire Steampunk kitchen set (630SPM) and an Edwardian kitchen set (400SP) for 180SP. \o/ Not a bad deal in the least, if you ask me.

Then, when I finally did track down the Tudor set, it turned out it was on sale, so I got it for 400SP off, too. All in all, a good haul, if a hellacious waste of time. I also got some cute Carnival themed clothing and a couple kimono for Mally, since she's super into kimono right now.

Anyway, back to the game. Last time I ended out, Ekaterine was a new baby and I was agonizing in waiting for people to age up so I could move them ooooooout because I had 8 people and two cats that I was trying to wrangle, and, frankly, that's a little more wrangle than I want to deal with.

Since then, everyone has grown up, yay! Sasha maxed out his painting skill and I got him a job in the music industry so he can work on his guitar skill without me making him do it, and he moved out. Currently he's a full adult, single, and bald. Not sure where the baldness came from in this family.

Rasputin hit his young adult years and got tossed off into his own house with a couple points in writing and charisma so he can, hopefully, achieve his dream of being a star news anchor. He got married the other day, so I should probably go visit him. Take over a cake or Ambrosia or something, as his wife is a ghost and I need to cut down on the number of damn ghosts in this town. People need to start dying and staying dead, dammit.

Speaking of dying, Sophie died and Martigan did NOTHING to try to save her. Wtf, Marigan. Wtf.

Once mom died, Katia managed to get Osvaldo to come over so they could get married, yay, and Gator got moved off to the most awkwardly shaped house I've built yet. He got remarried shortly after Rasputin got hitched. Here's wishing them all the best. (and I kept Ekaterine)

Olga still lives at home and is working on her cooking skill since someone's gotta make all this Ambrosia that I need to deghost the town with. She's a loner, so she's currently pretty damn single and, I assume, doesn't mind it.

Ekaterine hit her adult years as well, and she's also still living in the house. Though, in all honesty, Olga and Ekaterine are still at home just because I dropped a boatload of money buying three houses in 4 days, and I need to get up the coin to rehouse them. I'm contemplating having them move into the same place just to save me some time and effort (and simoleons).

And, since Mally was griping last time that she likes these better with pictures, here's a shot of Ekaterine and her dead husky eyes, since it's the only shot that I've gotten.

I will eat your soul

(also, hey, show of hands of whoever comments: more pictures or no pictures? Up to you)

So, since I finally managed to clear the house down to just Katia, Osvaldo, Olga, Ekaterine, Martigan, Kitty, and Ekaterine's moving out gift to be Eafs the cat, I, OF COURSE, decided that Katia and Osvaldo should have a bio-kid of their own. They got a boy with the family's classic reddish brown hair. His name is Idris and he's a kid as of, like, yesterday. He wants to be an Illustrious Author, so I've got him painting and writing his fingers to the bone already.

AND, what with all this space in the house, I decided to get Ekaterine married. I can't remember the guy's name right now, but I think he's an incubus as that's the only reasoning I can come up with for his skin colour. He's not black like a person would be, but more black like an ink spill. It's interesting. And when I married him up last night, he was borked, so I'm going to try again today and see if he works properly. Fingers crossed!

I like turtles

And pics, obviously :p

I should do a post about my sims sometime. If only to document all the stuff I've put sim!Volare through.

My Sim cats catch turtles constantly. Sooo many turtles.

*ticky mark for pics*

You should! Sometimes games can be super wacky.

Wait, they can catch turtles?! How the hell did I not know this?

Yep! If you have the Pets expansion pack you can send them off to hunt (after learning on a cat toy) and they can catch turtles and snakes and rodents and bugs and lizards and birds. You can go out and catch them, too, if you see them. If you can get the collection helper, it's a lot easier to find them for yourself. Annnnd you can get a terrarium to keep the turtles in, too. Pet turtles!

Teach a dog to hunt and it'll bring back gems and metals and meteors, and occasionally chunks of special decorative things you can put together if you've got all the parts.

In 4 you can catch and breed frogs, and keep them in terrariums, but not turtles or other critters. I have to wonder if they'll bring in more critters and a pets expansion and stuff.

Yay SIMS! You know, I never was able to get the videos you talked about. Like I just went to look again and I still don't have the linky thingy. Idk. I guess it doesn't so much matter now, with 4 & all, but anyway.

Another vote for pics, btw. ;)

I miss being able to have children build skills. Kids in 4 build skills but it's just Motor, Social...something and something. They can't just paint and gain painting skills.

I remember people that dark in 3. Pretty cool. Here's hoping he's not all borked next time. xD

Wonk. :-\ I went and got like 400 points today (there's a thing that I want that's on sale, but only for a couple more days. Must hoard all the things).

*picy ticky*

One of my fave things with little vampire kids was having them want to be, say, the jack of all trades and getting it for them within their first day of childhood. I haven't had ANY vamp babies this run (YET) and the skill building has been AGONY. Not being able to get any 'real' skills at all would be awful. How do you explain Mozart if kids can't play piano? (though I guess they still can't in 3, but, you know)

Alas, Sim Hubs to be was still borked, so I had them break up. His name was Lowell. Ekaterine and Olga moved out and now she's making eyes at someone else. Olga is still content in her antisocial cave of wonders.

Agreeing with the rest. Pics are FUN! :-D And reading these are like the best soap ever! X-D

Right now I have a BUNCH of photos saved up (new kids! Martigan the cat! People that moved out!), but NOTHING has happened of interest. I think the most interesting thing to happen in the last 25 Sim years is that Katia maxed out her fishing skill.
